▶️ Create promotions

1. Create the Basic Promotion

  • In Salesforce, open the StoreConnect app.

  • Go to StoreConnect NavigationOffersPromotions.

  • Click New.

Now fill in:

  • Name: The public-facing name of the promotion.

  • Store: Select which store this applies to.

  • Start and End Date: Set the start date (choose a past date for immediate activation).

  • Promo Code: Enter the promotional code that customers will use.

  • Usage Limit: (Optional) Set how many times this code can be used.

  • Campaign: (Optional) Link to a Salesforce Campaign.

  • Description: Internal notes only.

Click Save.


2. Add a Promotion Action

  • In the saved promotion record, click on the Related tab.

  • Under Promotion Actions, click New.

Then:

  • Select the current promotion.

  • Choose the action type:

    • Apply to item, entire order, extra items, free shipping, etc.
  • If needed, enter a minimum quantity.

  • Choose a calculation type (e.g., exact amount or percentage).

  • Enter the discount value (e.g., $5).

  • (Optional) Add rewards points discount.

  • Click Save.


3. Add a Promotion Scope

  • Back in the Related tab, go to Promotion Scopes and click New.

Then select:

  • The same promotion again.

  • Define the scope:

    • This could be by product, category, brand, price book, membership, account, or contact.
  • For example: Choose the product Steve Plushy with Orange Hoodie to apply it exclusively to that.

  • Click Save.

Your promotion is now fully configured.


4. Testing the Promotion on Your Website

  1. Go to your storefront and add the product (matching your promotion scope) to the cart.

  2. At checkout, enter the promo code you defined.

  3. Click Apply.

You’ll now see the discount (e.g., $5 off) applied instantly.
