{"title":"Add a supplier list to POS","slug":"add-a-supplier-list","url":"https://support.storeconnect.com/articles/add-a-supplier-list","url_markdown":"https://support.storeconnect.com/articles/add-a-supplier-list.md","subtitle":null,"summary":"Create Salesforce supplier accounts and add them to the POS supplier list so staff can look up supplier contacts for orders, returns, and enquiries.","type":"Help_Documentation","video_url":"","keywords":"supplier list, pos supplier list, add supplier to pos, supplier accounts, salesforce accounts, supplier contacts, product suppliers, supplier lookup, order enquiries, returns, is supplier","last_modified":"2026-08-21T07:12:35+0000","body_markdown":"There are a number of reasons for staff to access product suppliers from POS, including to:\n\n-   Follow up on order delivery times and shipping status\n-   Request advice about a product, such as product care\n-   Report defective goods and arrange returns\n-   Place an urgent order\n\nTo make a supplier list available to POS staff, each supplier needs an Account record in Salesforce.\n\n### Add a supplier to the POS supplier list\n\n1.  In the apps menu in Salesforce, search for and open **Supplier** **Accounts**.\n2.  Click **New** to create a new record. The **New Supplier Account** window opens.\n3. If the supplier exists, select them and then select **Save \u0026 New**. This adds them to the list. Repeat step 3 for all existing suppliers.\n5.  If the supplier does not exist, create an account for them, then add them to the supplier list.\n\n(Existing StoreConnect businesses only). If you used existing supplier contact records in the procedure above, you may also need to [complete this sync procedure](https://support.getstoreconnect.com/article/What-Records-Sync-to-your-Website \"Sync records to website\") so the suppliers appear in the POS dashboard.\n\n### Create a new supplier account\n\n1.  In the apps menu in Salesforce, search for and open **Accounts**.\n2.  Click **New** to create a new record. The **New Account** window opens.\n3.  Enter the supplier **Name** and add the relevant contact details.\n4.  Scroll to the **Product Brand** section and select the **Is Supplier** option. \n5. Select **Save \u0026 New** to add another supplier.\n7.  When you're finished, select **Save**.\n\n### Add contacts for a supplier\n\nFor new suppliers, you might also need to add contact details to the account record.\n\n1.  Open the supplier account record.\n2. Enter a **Name** and fill in the contact information. Select **Save \u0026 New** to create another contact for this account. \n6.  When you've finished adding contacts, select **Save**."}
