You might do this to add them to a mailing list or for other reasons.\n\n1.  Select **Customers** in the left menu. This is an icon of a person.\n2. Enter their first name, last name, and email or phone.\n4.  Select **Create new customer**.\n\n## Add a customer record at checkout\n\n1.  With the checkout cart open, select **Add customer** at the top of the cart. Search and select an existing customer. They are added to the cart transaction.\n3.  If they do not exist, select **Create new customer**.\n4.  Enter their first name, last name, and email or phone.\n5.  Select **Create new customer**. They are added to the cart transaction.\n6.  Complete the sale.\n\n\n## Remove a customer from the cart or checkout\n\n1.  Select the name of the customer in the checkout area.\n2.  In the pane that opens, click **Remove from transaction.**"}
