# Add a customer to a POS transaction Source: https://support.storeconnect.com/articles/adding-a-customer-to-an-order · Last modified 21 August 2026 ## Add a customer record at POS You can add a customer record from the POS terminal, even if no transaction is made. You might do this to add them to a mailing list or for other reasons. 1. Select **Customers** in the left menu. This is an icon of a person. 2. Enter their first name, last name, and email or phone. 4. Select **Create new customer**. ## Add a customer record at checkout 1. With the checkout cart open, select **Add customer** at the top of the cart. Search and select an existing customer. They are added to the cart transaction. 3. If they do not exist, select **Create new customer**. 4. Enter their first name, last name, and email or phone. 5. Select **Create new customer**. They are added to the cart transaction. 6. Complete the sale. ## Remove a customer from the cart or checkout 1. Select the name of the customer in the checkout area. 2.
