If you are running POS on our Android native app, printers are discovered via the native printer screen and also support Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and LAN connections.\n:::\n\nBefore you can set up the receipt or label printer:\n\n-   Set up [the register](pos-connect-a-register)\n-   (If applicable) Set up a [label template](pos-print-templates)\n-   (If applicable) Set up a [receipt template](pos-receipt-template)\n\n## Connect printer hardware\n\n1.  Sign in to the register.\n2.  Select **Settings** in the sidebar menu.\n3.  Select the type of printer you are connecting: Label or Receipt.\n\n    ![settings](https://res.cloudinary.com/hzkr6fi81/image/upload/v1750820368/knowledge/pos/settings.png)\n4.  Select the template you want to use.\n\n    ![receipt](https://res.cloudinary.com/hzkr6fi81/image/upload/v1750820367/knowledge/pos/receipt.png)\n5.  Make sure there is the green tick next to it. \n6.  Select **Connect**. You should get a pop-up like this. Select the device you want to connect.\n\n    ![printer1](https://res.cloudinary.com/hzkr6fi81/image/upload/v1746487733/knowledge/pos/printer1_pihkbr.png)\n7.  Click **Connect**.\n8.  Repeat from step 3 for each printer type.\n\nOnce they are connected, you should be able to see the 'Connect Cash Drawer' button. This controls whether the cash drawer opens after a payment transaction. You can pick which payment methods trigger the cash drawer to open. E.g. So it doesn't unnecessarily open after a card payment, but does after a cash payment. You can also turn the cash drawer feature off completely.\n\nFor full cash drawer setup — including adding an Open Cash Drawer button to a POS menu, and troubleshooting a drawer that does not open — see [Cash drawers](cash-drawers).\n\n## Install printer driver on windows devices\n\nIf you are using a windows device for a POS terminal, your receipt and label printers need to be configured to use the WinUSB driver.\n\nThe easiest way to do this is to use a tool called Zadig [https://zadig.akeo.ie](https://zadig.akeo.ie/)\n\n1.  Download Zadig.\n2.  Click **Options \u003e List All Devices**\n3.  Select your receipt printer in the dropdown list\n4.  Make sure **WinUSB driver** is selected as the replacement drive and then select **Install Driver**.\n5.  Repeat for your label printer.\n\nOnce this is done, the devices should connect normally to the terminal."}
