What is Route Mapping?**\n\n-   **Route Mapping** allows you to create **URL redirects** in StoreConnect:\n\n    -   Useful when **changing URL slugs** for pages/products/articles.\n\n    -   Essential for **migrating an old website** to StoreConnect (preserve SEO \u0026 existing links).\n\n\n---\n\n### **2\\. Change a URL Slug (Triggers Route Mapping)**\n\n1.  Go to the **backend** and search for your desired **Product / Page / Article**.\n\n2.  Click **Edit**.\n\n3.  Scroll to the **SEO** section.\n\n4.  Update the **Slug** field (URL slug).\n\n5.  Click **Save**.\n\n\nStoreConnect will **automatically create a Route Mapping**:\n\n-   Previous URL → New URL\n\n-   This ensures old links still work and SEO value is preserved.\n\n\n---\n\n### **3\\. Verify Route Mapping**\n\n1.  Navigate to:\n    **StoreConnect Navigation → Configuration → Advanced → Route Mapping**.\n\n2.  You’ll see a new **Route Mapping record** created automatically.\n\n3.  Click to open the record:\n\n    -   Shows **Old URL** and **New URL**.\n\n    -   Shows the **Type of redirect**:\n\n        -   **301 Permanent** (default — forwards SEO data).\n\n        -   **302 Temporary** (does not forward SEO data).\n\n        -   **Rewrite** (changes content without visible redirect).\n\n\n---\n\n### **4\\. Manually Manage Route Mappings**\n\n-   You can manually create Route Mappings here too:\n\n    -   For **products, categories, articles, pages**, etc.\n\n    -   Useful when **migrating from an old site** to StoreConnect.\n\n\n---\n\n### **5\\. Troubleshooting URL Conflicts**\n\n-   **Important tip**:\n    If you get an error saying a URL slug is **already in use**, but you can’t find where:\n\n    -   Check the **Route Mapping records**.\n\n    -   You may find **old/unused mappings** still present.\n\n    -   Simply **delete** any no longer needed to free up the slug.\n\n\n---\n\n### **Summary**\n\n-   Changing a **slug** → automatically creates a redirect.\n\n-   Manage \u0026 view redirects in **Advanced → Route Mapping**.\n\n-   Control **redirect type** (Permanent, Temporary, Rewrite).\n\n-   Clean up old mappings to avoid slug conflicts.\n\n-   Essential tool for **SEO-friendly URL management** and **site migrations**."}
