# Collect an item serial number at POS Source: https://support.storeconnect.com/articles/how-to-enforce-collection-of-a-serial-number-at-pos · Last modified 21 August 2026 You need to set the requirement at the product level, for each product you want to track. ## Require a serial number for a product at POS 1. Open the product in Salesforce. 2. Select **Edit**. 3. Scroll to the **Stock Information** section and switch on the **Has Serial Number** option. 4. Select **Save**. A serial number will now need to be entered for the product at the point of purchase. 5.
