{"title":"▶️ Set up product comparisons","slug":"how-to-set-up-product-comparisons","url":"https://support.storeconnect.com/articles/how-to-set-up-product-comparisons","url_markdown":"https://support.storeconnect.com/articles/how-to-set-up-product-comparisons.md","subtitle":null,"summary":"Enable the product comparison feature by adding a theme variable, so customers can select multiple products and view their traits side by side.","type":"Videos_Tutorials","video_url":"https://vimeo.com/1197568521?fl=sv\u0026fe=ci","keywords":null,"last_modified":"2026-08-21T07:12:35+0000","body_markdown":"**Step 1: Go to Themes**\n\n-   In the StoreConnect console or navigation, search for **Themes**.\n\n-   Open **All Themes**.\n\n-   Select the theme currently applied to your store.\n\n\n---\n\n**Step 2: Add a New Theme Variable**\n\n-   Inside the theme, go to **Theme Variables**.\n\n-   Click **New** to create a variable.\n\n\n---\n\n**Step 3: Configure the Variable**\n\n-   Set the **Name** to: `product comparison`\n\n-   Set the **Key** to: `products.comparisons`\n\n-   Set the **Value** to: `true`\n\n-   Save the variable.\n\n\n---\n\n**Step 4: Enable Product Comparison**\n\n-   Wait a moment for changes to apply.\n\n-   Go back to your store page and refresh.\n\n-   You should now see an **“Add to Compare”** option under each product.\n\n\n---\n\n**Step 5: Compare Products**\n\n-   Select two or more products.\n\n-   Click **Compare Products**.\n\n-   All product traits will display side by side for easy comparison.\n\n\n---\n\n**Step 6: (Optional) Set Up Traits**\n\n-   To make comparisons more useful, ensure you’ve set up **Traits** for your products.\n\n-   Refer to the video on traits for setup guidance."}
