# ▶️ Set up product comparisons

**Step 1: Go to Themes**

-   In the StoreConnect console or navigation, search for **Themes**.

-   Open **All Themes**.

-   Select the theme currently applied to your store.

**Step 2: Add a New Theme Variable**

-   Inside the theme, go to **Theme Variables**.

-   Click **New** to create a variable.

**Step 3: Configure the Variable**

-   Set the **Name** to: `product comparison`

-   Set the **Key** to: `products.comparisons`

-   Set the **Value** to: `true`

-   Save the variable.

**Step 4: Enable Product Comparison**

-   Wait a moment for changes to apply.

-   Go back to your store page and refresh.

-   You should now see an **“Add to Compare”** option under each product.

**Step 5: Compare Products**

-   Select two or more products.

-   Click **Compare Products**.

-   All product traits will display side by side for easy comparison.

**Step 6: (Optional) Set Up Traits**

-   To make comparisons more useful, ensure you’ve set up **Traits** for your products.

-   Refer to the video on traits for setup guidance.
