# Add customer search keywords for your store Source: https://support.storeconnect.com/articles/search-keywords · Last modified 21 August 2026 Adding your own custom keywords to a product or webpage enhances website global search by overcoming an issue where a search may not return the expected result for some because of: - Different names for the same thing. - Common misspellings. - Different spelling for different areas of the world. - Additional product codes. - Abbreviated product codes. - Other keywords not already in searchable content. It simplifies discovery for diverse audiences, boosting satisfaction and reducing frustration. ## Adding searchable keywords Keywords can be added for Products, Pages and Articles. They can be a single word or a phrase and each entry is separated onto a new line in the long text area field. Ensure the field is on your page layouts so your Admins and Content Creators can add to this field when creating products or site content and make it easier for your customers to find. Search Keywords are case insensitive so they can type it with capitals, or not, and it will work the same. Field API Name: s\_c\_\_Search\_Keywords\_\_c ## Example Your hardware store sells many tools that are referred to by different names depending on the industry that uses them, like an Allen Key. Your product may be Labelled "Allen Key Set" but many customers call it a Hex Key or Allen Wrench.
