They handle the behind-the-scenes work that keeps your storefront and Salesforce data in sync, including:\n\n- Processing media imports and generating CDN URLs\n- Recording and publishing record changes for downstream sync\n- Assigning system-generated fields (such as unique IDs and composite keys)\n- Triggering inventory and stock level adjustments when orders change\n\nWhen sync triggers are enabled (the default), these processes run automatically in the background. When they are disabled, none of this processing occurs.\n\n:::warning\nOnly disable sync triggers if you have a specific reason to do so, such as a package upgrade or a bulk data load. Leaving triggers disabled will cause media imports, inventory updates, and other background processes to stop working until they are re-enabled.\n:::\n\n## Reasons why sync triggers might be disabled\n\nSync triggers are occasionally disabled intentionally during maintenance operations, including:\n\n- **Package upgrades** — to prevent unintended side effects while a new version of StoreConnect is being deployed\n- **Bulk data loads** — to avoid duplicate records or surplus data being created during large imports\n- **Sandbox refreshes** — to prevent data integrity issues while the environment is being reset\n\nIn these situations triggers are re-enabled once the operation is complete. If they are not re-enabled, features that depend on background processing, such as media imports, stop working.\n\n## Check whether sync triggers are enabled\n\n1. In Salesforce, select the gear icon and select **Setup**.\n2. In the **Quick Find** box, search for **Custom Metadata Types**.\n3. Select **Manage Records** next to **StoreConnect Setting**.\n4. Open the record named **StoreConnect Triggers Enabled**.\n5. Read the **Setting** field value:\n   - `true` — triggers are enabled and running normally, so there is nothing to change\n   - `false` — triggers are disabled, so follow the steps below to re-enable them\n\n## Re-enable sync triggers\n\n1. On the **StoreConnect Triggers Enabled** record, select **Edit**.\n2. Set the **Setting** field to `true`.\n3. Select **Save**.\n4. Reopen the record and confirm **Setting** now reads `true`.\n5. Make a small change to a record that depends on trigger processing, such as saving a **Media** record, and confirm the background processing completes.\n\n:::note\nChanges to **Custom Metadata Types** take effect immediately. There is no need to deploy or activate anything after saving.\n:::\n\nAny records changed while the triggers were disabled did not raise sync events, and re-enabling the triggers does not go back and process them. Save those records again to bring them across."}
