Add and update almost anything this way: brand colors, heading fonts, home page banner, page content, and more. You describe the change, the agent stages it as a draft, and nothing reaches your storefront until someone approves and publishes it.\n\nThe video shows a store update made with Claude from start to finish. Use the steps below to make the same kind of change on your own store.\n\n:::tip\nTry design changes on a test store before you make them on your live store. See [Set up a test store](test-store).\n:::\n\n## Before you start\n\n- Connect your agent to the store. See [Connect an AI agent to your store](connect-an-ai-agent-to-your-store).\n- Install the StoreConnect skills in your agent. They are not required, but they teach the agent how StoreConnect themes and content fit together. See [Install the StoreConnect AI skills](install-ai-skills).\n- Make sure someone with an `Approver` level `Content Changes` store role can approve and publish the change. By default, that person cannot be the user the agent signed in as. See [store roles](store-roles).\n\n## Make a design change\n\n1.  Ask the agent to confirm which store it is connected to, and to describe the current design. For example: \"Which store are you connected to? Summarize the current colors, fonts, and home page sections.\"\n\n    This check stops a change from landing on the wrong store, and gives the agent the real starting point instead of a guess.\n\n2.  Describe the change you want. Name the page or section, and say what should change and what should stay the same. For example: \"Change the primary brand color to `#2D4A2D` and the heading font to 'Playfair Display'. Leave the body font and the layout as they are.\"\n3.  Ask the agent to list what it will change before it stages anything.\n4.  Ask for a preview link, and open it in your browser. The preview shows your storefront with the draft applied, and the live store is unchanged.\n5.  Check the pages the change touches, on both desktop and mobile.\n6.  If something is not right, describe the correction in the same conversation, for example \"Make the banner text white so it reads better against the new color.\" The agent adds the fix to the same draft. Ask for a fresh preview link.\n7.  When the preview is correct, ask the agent to push the change for review.\n8.  You or someone else can approve and publish the change in Salesforce. See [Review and approve a content change](review-and-approve-a-content-change).\n\nOnce the change is published, it moves to the **Published** tab of the Console's content changes queue, and the live storefront shows the new design.\n\n## Write requests that work\n\nThe agent can only act on what you tell it, so the more specific you are, the shorter the conversation. Here's some tips:\n\n- **Give exact values when you have them.** A hex color (`#C4622D`), a font name from Google Fonts, or a hosted image URL leaves nothing to interpretation. \"Make it warmer\" works too, but expect a round of adjustments.\n- **Say where.** \"The banner on the home page\" is clearer than \"the banner\".\n- **Keep one draft to one purpose.** A rebrand and an unrelated page rewrite are easier to review, and to reject, as separate changes.\n- **Ask to see before you approve.** Asking \"What will you change?\" and \"Show me a preview\" costs a minute and catches a misunderstanding before it reaches an approver.\n- **Hand-tweak when describing is slower.** For a small visual adjustment, ask the agent for a link to the Website Builder. It opens on the same draft, so your edits and the agent's land together. See [Edit your site with the Website Builder](website-builder).\n\nSome example requests:\n\n- \"Replace the logo with `https://cdn.example.com/brand/logo-2026.svg` and set its alt text to 'Fabulous Wines logo'.\"\n- \"Update the home page hero banner: title Spring sale, subtitle 20% off all reds, button Shop now linking to `/sale`.\"\n- \"Change the footer menu to show About, Contact, and Shipping, in that order.\"\n- \"Our brand is warm, minimal, and editorial. Record that as the design brief, then suggest a palette that fits it.\"\n\n## Keep the design consistent across sessions\n\nAn agent remembers nothing between conversations unless you give it something to work from. Ask it to save a design brief, a short record of the store's personality, palette, type choices, and things to avoid. The brief is stored with the store and is given to every later agent session automatically, so a change made next month starts from the same intent. Saving or updating a brief applies straight away and is not part of a draft. You might also refer the agent to your brand style guide.\n\n## If you change your mind\n\n- **Before the change is pushed**, ask the agent to discard the draft. Everything staged in it is thrown away, and the live store is untouched. To keep most of a draft, ask it to remove only the part you no longer want.\n- **After the change is pushed**, the agent can no longer discard it. Ask the approver not to publish it. They can also set the change's **Status** back to `Review` to return it for more work."}
