For example, a product with 7.25% tax on a $1,822.36 order was returning $112.31 in tax instead of the correct $132.12.\n\nThe cause was that the promotional and adjustment line items (promotion discount, cash rounding, tipping) were being sent to Avalara as part of the tax calculation request. Avalara interpreted these as additional discount adjustments and applied a second round of tax offsets on top of the discount already accounted for in the promotion line — effectively removing some tax twice. These adjustment products are now excluded from the Avalara tax calculation, and only the actual purchasable items are sent. Tax totals on affected orders will now be correct."}
