Add a live chat service to your site

“Live Chat” is a feature providing “live” interaction between a website user and support team member.

There are many brands and styles of “Live Chat”, however, they all have similar requirements when integrating their service into your StoreConnect website.

Prerequisites

  • You will need to sign up to a Live Chat service.
  • You will also need their code to place in your StoreConnect website.

How to install the live chat code

Once you have created your live chat account and copied the their code to integrate into your store, you will be required to paste the code before the closing tag.

Within your Salesforce Org, install your custom Live Chat code in the Body Content section as detailed on the Content Management page.

You may need to create a new Content Block using the +New Content Block option. For best practice, refer to, Adding Custom Javascript, CSS, Body and Head Content Scripts when creating a new Content Block for your content.

If you are installing other custom code on the body of your site, you can add them all into the same Content Block.
