What are loyalty points?

Customers can accumulate Loyalty Points through purchases and other activities in your store or in Salesforce. These points can then be used for may purposes including partial or full payment for future purchases, creating an incentive for repeat business and increased customer lifetime value.

How loyalty points work

The loyalty points system in StoreConnect operates on two main functions:

Earning Points: Customers receive points when they make purchases in your store. The number of points earned can be configured as a percentage of the purchase amount or as fixed amounts per product.

Spending Points: Customers can use their accumulated points to pay for products and shipping, either in combination with currency or as the sole payment method.

Another way you may wish to utilise points is to allow customers to earn membership upgrades, or get free products, etc. Automations could be built in Salesforce to manage these.

Store configuration

  • Set display options for prices on the store (currency only, points only, or both)
  • Configure point activation triggers based on order status
  • Set point expiration period
  • Define default earning and spending ratios for the store

Price book setup

These can override the store's defaults.

  • Establish default earning rates for points
  • Set default purchase rates for spending points
  • Configure baseline conversion ratios

Product configuration (price book entries)

These can override the price book and store defaults.

  • Enable point earning for specific products
  • Set custom point values for individual products
  • Configure products to accept points as payment
  • Set up bonus point promotions

Customer setup

  • Configure which contacts can earn and spend points
  • Set up account-level point tracking
  • Manage point permissions and restrictions

Shipping integration

  • Enable shipping costs to be paid with points
