Sync summaries

Sync Summaries provide an overview of the synchronization status between supported objects in Salesforce (SF) and your StoreConnect website (SC). It is intended to give users confirmation that the objects they are working with are in fact syncronizing to the website. This can help when something is not working and the user is wondering if their changes have synchronized yet.

Although record sync can complete in seconds, Sync Summaries are normally updated every 3 minutes, but can take a little longer when your org's job queue is long.

View your Sync Summaries from the App Launcher or via the StoreConnect Navigation utility. You can also get to it from the Sync section of the StoreConnect Setup app.

Sync Summaries displays information for each supported object and lists:

  • Object Name: The name of the object being tracked.
  • SF Row Count: The current record count for the object in Salesforce.
  • SC Row Count: The current count of records for the object in StoreConnect web application.
  • Latest Row Synced At: The value of the SystemModstamp for the most recent record changed in that object.
  • Captured At: The timestamp showing when the snapshot of row counts was last updated.

How to use sync summaries

Keep in mind when using this tool that the data can be out slightly due to several factors.

  • Order-related objects could have new order records in flight and the SC Row Count would be higher than the SF Row Count.
  • Standard object records that do not have a StoreConnect ID value set will not sync to the store so the SC Row Count will be less than SF Row Count. See what records sync to the website.

Review row counts

Compare the SF Row Count and SC Row Count for objects you want to check. A discrepancy could indicates a sync issue. Remember these summaries can take 3 minutes to update.

You can tell if records have not yet sync'd from SF to SC or SC to SF.

Check latest sync time

If you have made changes and don't see that the object has synced recently, that could indicate an issue with sync. Keep in mind though that you may not be looking at the most recent data as there is a delay between snapshots.

Check the summary snapshot time

The Captured At timestamp shows when the current summary snapshot was taken and therefore how up to date the summary is. If a lot older than 3 minutes, then the data may be unreliable. Wait for the next snapshot.
