Get started with StoreConnect
On this page
Work through this checklist to take StoreConnect from installation to a live store. The tasks are in dependency order, so complete each group before moving to the next. Tick each item off as you go.
Before you begin
- You need to be a Salesforce administrator for most of these tasks.
- How many apply depends on where you are starting. If you are still evaluating StoreConnect, start with prepare to get started instead.

Step 1: Before you install
Check compatibility and complete all prerequisites. Two of these are hard install blockers, so do them first.
- [ ] Check your Salesforce org compatibility — verify your org meets the edition, object, and API requirements
- [ ] Review prerequisites to getting started — understand what is required before installation
- [ ] Check Lightning Web Security is enabled — required before installation, and only applies to older Salesforce orgs
- [ ] Manage which records sync by default — recommended for orgs with large record volumes. Do this before running Setup, or the full initial sync has already run
Step 2: Install and set up StoreConnect
- [ ] Install and set up StoreConnect — install the managed package and follow the basic setup steps
- [ ] Create a StoreConnect sync user — set up the dedicated user StoreConnect syncs through
- [ ] Invite your team — add team members and assign permission sets
- [ ] Learn about store themes — accept the default theme and explore theme customization
- [ ] Assign page layouts — configure page layouts for StoreConnect objects
Step 3: Configure Salesforce
- [ ] Salesforce basics for StoreConnect — essential Salesforce concepts
- [ ] Page layouts, profiles and permission sets — configure layouts and profiles for your store
- [ ] List your site as a trusted URL in Salesforce — allowlist your domain so the Take Payment button works
- [ ] Configure authentication providers — set up the login methods your customers use
- [ ] Use Experience Cloud login as single sign-on — optional, if your customers already have Experience Cloud logins
Step 4: Configure your store
- [ ] Understand the default store — learn what the default store is and how it behaves
- [ ] Set up your test store — create an environment for testing
- [ ] Create multiple stores — optional, if you run more than one store
- [ ] Create multiple storefronts with StoreConnect — optional, a worked example of the above
Step 5: Set up your domain
- [ ] Connect a domain to StoreConnect — create the Web Domain record and point your DNS at it
- [ ] Redirect to StoreConnect from existing web pages — only if you are replacing an existing site
Step 6: Test and launch
Do these in order. Test mode must be off before your store can take real payments, and the domain must be live before you can test it.
- [ ] Use test mode for transaction testing — place test orders without incurring fees
- [ ] Prepare to launch your store — work through the pre-launch and cut-over checklists
- [ ] Set your store domain and go live — make the domain primary and turn off test mode
- [ ] Test your live store — confirm the live site works end to end
