Product minimum requirements for POS
On this page
This topic is like a checklist or troubleshooting topic to ensure a product can be seen and processed at point of sale (POS).
Products cannot be a placeholder product
This means that the products should not be assigned to restricted products, and must be purchasable by customers.
Master and variant products only
A product must be a master product, or a variant product linked to a master product. The checkbox ‘is master’ should be ticked, unless the product is a variant of a master product itself.
Price book entry required
Products without a price book entry cannot be added to the checkout at POS. It may appear at the register terminal, but it is not purchasable. You may want to create a special price book to be used for POS products.

Product taxonomy and category required
Your store’s taxonomy must be active and products must be in at least one product category within that taxonomy. In this example, there is a record forCategories containing this Product, and that category is associated with a taxonomy that belongs to the store.

Booking duration must be empty
Applies to bookable products only. The booking duration information of a product is not rendered at POS.
