Install the StoreConnect AI skills

On this page

The StoreConnect AI skills teach an AI assistant how StoreConnect actually works: themes and Liquid templates, forms, the Salesforce object model, deployment order, and point of sale. With the skills installed, your assistant follows real platform conventions instead of a plausible-sounding guess.

Use this process to install the skills into the AI product you already use. Everything comes from the public GetStoreConnect/ai repository, which is free and open and contains no store addresses, no passwords, and no customer data. Installing the skills connects nothing and changes nothing in your store. It is closer to handing someone the manual than handing them the keys.

:::note Skills are knowledge, not access. A live connection that lets an assistant read and change one specific store uses MCP: see Connect an AI agent to your store. The skills are fully useful without a connection. :::

For the quick install command for each product, the overview video, and every AI guide in one place, start from the AI Agents page.

Before you begin

  • An AI product that supports skills or plugins. The table below covers Claude, Codex and ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Google Antigravity, Gemini, Kiro, and Grok Build.
  • A terminal with npx available, or the AI product’s own command line tool, for any install that runs a command.
  • git, for the products whose package installs from a local checkout of the repository.

You do not need StoreConnect credentials, Salesforce access, or a store URL. Nothing here signs in to anything.

Choose your install: package or open skills format

There are two ways in, and picking the wrong one is the most common source of confusion. Both install the same 13 skills. The difference is what comes with them.

  • Install your product’s package when your product appears in the table below. The package is those same skills wrapped in the product’s own plugin format, plus the specialist agents and ready-made commands that the product supports.
  • Install with the open skills format when your product is not listed, or when you want nothing but the skills in a single project folder. This is the fallback that works with any product supporting the open skills layout, and it is the recommended route for Kiro and for Antigravity 2.0 and IDE.

Find your product, then follow that product’s section below.

AI product Install route Also included Status
Claude Code Package from the Claude directory or the repository 5 specialist agents, 3 commands Supported
Claude web, desktop, and mobile Package from the Claude directory 3 commands, loaded as skills Supported
Codex and ChatGPT Package Skills only Supported
GitHub Copilot CLI Package 5 specialist agents Supported
Cursor Package 5 specialist agents, 3 commands Supported
Gemini CLI Package 5 specialist agents Supported
Google Antigravity Package for Antigravity CLI, open skills format for Antigravity 2.0 and IDE Skills only Preview
Kiro Open skills format Skills only Preview
Grok Build Package from the xAI plugin marketplace 5 specialist agents, 3 commands Preview
Any other product that supports skills Open skills format Skills only Supported

Preview means the route works but has not yet passed live acceptance against a target store, so expect rough edges and verify the result before you rely on it.

:::note Products without an agents or commands feature carry the same procedures inside the skills themselves, so nothing is lost by installing skills only. The specialist agents and commands are convenience wrappers, not extra knowledge. :::

Install the package for your product

Run each product’s commands from the root of the project you want the skills available in.

Claude Code

If you add StoreConnect Agent Skills from the Claude directory, as the next section describes, Claude Code receives it through account sync each time it starts while signed in with the same claude.ai account. In a session, the Installed tab of /plugin lists it with synced as the source.

If Claude Code signs in with an API key, or you are scripting the install, install the package from the repository instead. Install from one source only, because both provide the same plugin.

```bash
claude plugin marketplace add GetStoreConnect/ai –sparse .claude-plugin providers/claude/storeconnect claude plugin install storeconnect@storeconnect-ai claude plugin list ```
--sparse starts with two hyphens and takes both of the paths that follow it, so the download is limited to the two folders Claude Code needs.
:::warning Copying this command from a web page, a chat window, or a document often turns the two hyphens into a single dash, and Claude Code rejects the result. If the first command fails, retype --sparse with two hyphens. :::
claude plugin list should show storeconnect.
Claude web, desktop, and mobile
The package is listed in the Claude directory as StoreConnect Agent Skills.
  1. In Claude, open Customize, then Plugins.
  2. Search for StoreConnect.
  3. On StoreConnect Agent Skills, select Add.
If your organization limits which plugins members can add, ask an Owner to make it available. An Owner can also install it for everyone from Organization settings > Plugins & skills.
In these apps the specialist agents are not used, and the three commands load as skills. The plugin also works in Cowork.
StoreConnect Agent Skills now appears under Yours in Customize > Plugins. The skills teach Claude how StoreConnect works. To let Claude read and change a store as well, follow Connect an AI agent to your store.
Codex and ChatGPT
```bash

codex plugin marketplace add GetStoreConnect/ai –ref main codex plugin add storeconnect@storeconnect-ai codex plugin list ```

The package works in Codex CLI, the ChatGPT desktop app, and ChatGPT web in Work mode. Codex IDE integrations do not read it, so use the open skills format there.

Start a new Codex session after installing, so Codex discovers the skills.

GitHub Copilot CLI

```bash
copilot plugin marketplace add GetStoreConnect/ai copilot plugin install storeconnect@storeconnect-ai copilot plugin list ```
In an interactive session, run /agent and /skills list to confirm the specialist agents and skills loaded.
Cursor
Cursor’s package lives at providers/cursor/storeconnect in the repository, and Cursor installs it from a local checkout rather than from a marketplace URL. Clone the repository, then start the Cursor Agent CLI with the package directory:
```bash

git clone –depth 1 https://github.com/GetStoreConnect/ai.git storeconnect-ai cd storeconnect-ai agent –plugin-dir ./providers/cursor/storeconnect ```

That loads the package for that one session, which is the right choice when you want to try it. For a permanent install in your own project, use the open skills format instead: it gives you the skills without the specialist agents and commands.

Gemini CLI

Install the extension straight from the repository URL. Gemini reads it from the latest StoreConnect AI release, which packages the extension for you. --auto-update keeps the extension on the latest release:

```bash
gemini extensions install https://github.com/GetStoreConnect/ai –auto-update gemini extensions list ```
In a Gemini session, run /agents list to see the specialist agents the extension loaded.
:::note Google routes personal free, Google AI Pro, and Google AI Ultra accounts to Antigravity CLI. Use the Gemini CLI package only for Gemini Code Assist Standard or Enterprise, Google Cloud, and paid-key setups. On a personal account, follow the Google Antigravity section instead. :::
Google Antigravity
For Antigravity CLI, install the native plugin from a checkout:
```bash

git clone –depth 1 https://github.com/GetStoreConnect/ai.git storeconnect-ai cd storeconnect-ai agy plugin install ./providers/antigravity/storeconnect agy plugin list ```

In a session, run /skills to confirm the skills loaded.

For Antigravity 2.0 and the IDE, install the skills at workspace scope instead. Run this from your project root, and keep the default project scope so the skills land in .agents/skills/:

```bash
npx skills add GetStoreConnect/ai -a antigravity ```
Kiro
Kiro reads the open skills format, so there is no separate package to install. Run this from your project root:
```bash

npx skills add GetStoreConnect/ai –agent kiro-cli –skill ‘*’ –copy ```

Kiro’s built-in agents and CLI custom agents load workspace skills by default. If your workspace sets chat.disableInheritingDefaultResources, add skill://.kiro/skills/**/SKILL.md as an explicit resource on each custom agent that needs the skills.

Grok Build

Install StoreConnect from the xAI plugin marketplace. The specialist agents and commands come with it.

To install the skills alone into one project, note that Grok discovers project skills at ./.grok/skills/ and does not scan .agents/skills/, so copy them across:

```bash
git clone –depth 1 https://github.com/GetStoreConnect/ai.git storeconnect-ai mkdir -p .grok/skills cp -R storeconnect-ai/providers/grok/storeconnect/skills/. .grok/skills/ ```
Run grok inspect to confirm what loaded.
Install with the open skills format
Use this for any product not listed above, and for the products whose table row names it. Run it from the root of the project you want the skills in:
```bash

npx skills add GetStoreConnect/ai ```

The command installs the skill folders from the repository’s root skills/ catalog. It does not install a provider plugin, connect an MCP server, or store any credential.

Confirm the skills loaded

  1. Start a new session in your AI product, so it picks up the newly installed skills.
  2. Ask the assistant “Which StoreConnect skills do you have available?” or “How do theme templates reach my storefront?”.
  3. Check the answer names the storeconnect-* skills, or answers with specifics such as s_c__Theme_Template__c records and cache versions.

A generic answer about generic ecommerce means the skills did not load. Start a fresh session and check you ran the install from the project you are working in.

Most products also give you a direct check:

AI product Check
Claude Code claude plugin list, or the Installed tab of /plugin for a plugin synced from claude.ai
Claude web, desktop, and mobile StoreConnect Agent Skills under Yours in Customize > Plugins
Codex and ChatGPT codex plugin list
GitHub Copilot CLI copilot plugin list, then /agent and /skills list in a session
Gemini CLI gemini extensions list, then /agents list in a session
Google Antigravity CLI agy plugin list, then /skills in a session
Grok Build grok inspect
Kiro Confirm the .kiro/skills/ folder exists in your project
Open skills format Confirm the skills folder exists in your project

Specialist agents

Five packages add specialist agents, which are focused assistants you hand a whole job to rather than a single question.

Agent What it does
sc-store-designer Plans a new store or a major redesign, and sets a safe order of work
sc-theme-developer Builds Liquid templates, theme assets, forms, components, and styling
sc-theme-reviewer Audits a storefront read-only and reports ranked findings, changing nothing
sc-salesforce-manager Works with StoreConnect records: content, catalog, theme, and configuration data
sc-pos-developer Configures and extends point of sale, from outlets and registers to layouts and printing

Ready-made commands

Three packages also add commands for the procedures that should never be improvised.

Command What it does
sc-auth Connects to one store and confirms which store, which environment, and who you are signed in as
sc-publish Walks a change through review, your explicit approval, submission, and a live check afterwards
sc-theme-review Runs the read-only theme audit and reports ranked findings

Keep the skills up to date

Some installs update on their own and some need a command. Find your product below. To see which version is current, check the StoreConnect AI releases page.

AI product How to update
Claude web, desktop, and mobile Updates automatically. No action is needed.
Claude Code, added from the Claude directory Updates automatically through account sync each time Claude Code starts.
Claude Code, installed from the repository Auto-update is off by default. Follow Update Claude Code installed from the repository.
Codex and ChatGPT Codex refreshes the marketplace when it starts. To update straight away, run codex plugin marketplace upgrade storeconnect-ai, then start a new Codex session.
GitHub Copilot CLI Run copilot plugin update storeconnect.
Cursor Run git pull in your storeconnect-ai clone, then start the Cursor Agent CLI again with --plugin-dir. If you installed with the open skills format, run npx skills update from your project root.
Gemini CLI Installs made with --auto-update update automatically. For an install made without it, run gemini extensions update storeconnect.
Google Antigravity CLI Run git pull in your storeconnect-ai clone, then run the agy plugin install command again.
Google Antigravity 2.0 and IDE Run npx skills update from your project root.
Kiro Run the install command from the Kiro section again from your project root.
Grok Build Update StoreConnect from the xAI plugin marketplace. If you copied the skills alone into .grok/skills/, run git pull in your storeconnect-ai clone, then run the cp command again.
Open skills format Run npx skills update from your project root.

Update Claude Code installed from the repository

  1. In Claude Code, run /plugin.
  2. Open Marketplaces.
  3. Select storeconnect-ai.
  4. Select Enable auto-update to update each time Claude Code starts, or Update marketplace to update once.
  5. Restart Claude Code to load the new version.

Run claude plugin list to check. The Version line for storeconnect@storeconnect-ai now matches the latest version on the releases page.

:::tip The skills work entirely offline and never touch a store. If you later connect an assistant to your store over MCP, keep the skills installed: the connection provides the ability to act, and the skills provide the judgment about how to act safely. :::
