Manage who can access the support portal

On this page

Use this process to control who at your company can sign in to the StoreConnect support portal, and what each of them can do once they are in.

Before you start

You need the Admin permission on your own portal user. Manage users is not available without it.

Permission settings

Each person in the list has three independent settings. You can toggle these on or off.

  • Active — the person can sign in. Clearing this signs them out immediately.
  • Admin — the person can invite teammates and edit their permissions, and receives admin alerts.
  • Billing — the person can view invoices and update payment details, and receives billing notifications.

Admin and Billing are also what generate the Admin alerts and Billing recipients lists on Company details.

Invite a colleague

  1. Go to Manage users.
  2. Select Invite user.
  3. Complete Invite a teammate:

    • First name
    • Last name — required.
    • Email — required. The portal matches an existing teammate on this address, or creates a new portal user.
    • Title
  4. Under Permissions, select Admin, Billing, both, or neither.
  5. Select Send invitation.

The person appears in the user list with a status of Pending invite and the date you invited them. Once they sign in for the first time, the status changes to Active with a last login date.

Change someone’s permissions

  1. Go to Manage users.
  2. Find the person, using Search users by name or email if the list is long.
  3. Select or clear Active, Admin, or Billing on their row.

Changes save as you make them. There is no save button on this page.

Remove someone’s access

:::warning Clearing Active signs the person out immediately. They cannot sign in again until an admin reactivates them, so do this only when you intend to end their access. :::

  1. Go to Manage users.
  2. Find the person and clear Active on their row.
  3. Respond to the confirmation message.

When a user’s status changes to inactive, they lose access straight away. Their record and case history stay in place, so you can restore access later by selecting Active again.

:::note Deactivating someone in the support portal does not touch their Salesforce user. Removing their Salesforce access is a separate task in your own org. :::
