Promotions v2 examples

On this page

Each recipe below lists every record and field value needed for one complete offer. Build them in the order shown, following the process in Configure Promotions v2.

Fields not listed can keep their defaults. Every recipe assumes the promotion’s Store is your store and its Start Date is today or earlier.

Promotion v2: Reward Strategy Tiered, no coupon code.

Promotion v2 Condition: Priority 1.

Tiered spend and save

Spend $500 for 10% off, $1000 for 20%, $1500 for 30%, with only the best tier applying. This is what Tiered exists for: three condition-and-reward pairs under one promotion.

Rewards: three Discount on Subtotal rewards at 10, 20, and 30 percent.

Conditions: three Total Value conditions with amounts 500, 1000, and 1500.

Promotion v2: Display Name Spend and Save, Reward Strategy Tiered, no coupon code.

Promotion v2 Conditions: three link records, highest threshold first.

Condition Reward Priority
Cart Total $1500 30% Off Subtotal 1
Cart Total $1000 20% Off Subtotal 2
Cart Total $500 10% Off Subtotal 3

The priority order matters. Under the tiered strategy only one link record applies, so putting the highest threshold at priority 1 means a large cart gets the biggest discount rather than stopping at the first tier it passes. A $600 cart gets 10%, a $1200 cart gets 20%, and a $1600 cart gets 30%.

Members-only free shipping

No cart requirement, restricted to one membership. The restriction lives on the promotion header, so the condition is simply Always Applies.

Reward: Discounted Shipping, Percentage, 100.

Condition: Always Applies. Leave Amount empty.

Promotion v2

Field Value
Display Name Member Free Shipping
Customer Scope Membership Your membership record
Coupon Code Leave blank

Promotion v2 Condition: Priority 1.

:::tip If the offer has no cart condition at all, a discount scoped to the same membership is simpler to maintain and shows the reduced price on the product page. Use this recipe when you also need scheduling, usage limits, or a coupon code. :::

Buy three, get 10% off those items

Repeats for every group of three, so six items get the discount twice.

Identifier ten-percent-every-three
Type Discount on Products
Discount Type Percentage
Discount Percentage 10
Frequency No Limit
Apply to Matched Products

Condition: Total Quantity, Amount 3.

Promotion v2 Condition: Priority 1.

To limit the offer to one category, add a Promotion v2 Product Scope to the condition with Scope Type Include and that Category selected. Because the reward uses Matched Products, the discount then lands only on the items the condition counted.

A free gift over $80

Adds a nominated product to the cart at no charge.

Reward

Field Value
Display Name Free Tote Bag
Identifier free-tote-over-80
Type Free Product

The gift appears as its own cart line at $0 and is removed automatically if the cart drops below $80.
