▶️ Use website builder
On this page
Use the website builder to edit your store’s pages, content blocks, styles, and scripts visually, then submit the changes for an approver to publish. Nothing you change reaches your live site until it is published.
1. Access the website builder
-
Open the StoreConnect app in Salesforce.
-
Go to your Store record.
-
Click the Website Builder button (top-right corner. If missing, add it to your page layout).
-
If you see a permission error, proceed to the next step to set up user access.
2. Set up user access
To open the website builder, a user needs a Store User Role that links them to a Store Role of type Content Changes at Editor or Approver level. The Commenter and Viewer levels cannot open the website builder.
-
Go to the Store Roles list.
-
Open the Content Editor or Content Approver role. If neither fits, click New, set Type to Content Changes, choose a Level, and click Save.
-
In the Store User Roles related list, click New.
-
Select the User.
-
Set Store Scope to
Store,Group, orAll. ForStoreorGroup, also select the store or store group. An approver who publishes website builder changes needs
All. Website builder changes are not linked to a store, so an approver with a narrower scope cannot publish them. -
Click Save.
3. Use the website builder interface
-
Return to the Store record and click Website Builder again — you now have access.
-
The builder provides a visual interface to edit website content.
-
Hover over content blocks to highlight and select them.
-
Available actions:
-
Edit content block (opens a form with fields like title, image, link, alignment, etc.).
-
Reorder blocks.
-
Delete blocks.
-
Show all fields to access additional settings in the side menu.
-
-
Preview changes in real-time as you edit.
4. Change global settings
-
Access Global Settings (top-right):
-
SEO info.
-
Assign header/footer content blocks.
-
Switch menu systems.
-
Change default homepage.
-
Update logo and placeholder images.
-
5. Edit styles and scripts
-
Use Styles menu to:
-
Edit global CSS.
-
Set primary/secondary color palette.
-
-
Use Scripts menu to:
- Add global JavaScript to the site.
6. Navigate and edit pages
-
Navigate to any page by clicking its link in the builder.
-
Edit:
-
Page settings.
-
Individual content blocks.
-
-
To add new content:
-
Scroll to Add Content Block section at the bottom of the page.
-
Select desired content block template.
-
Insert content (text, image, media lookup, etc.).
-
7. Submit and publish changes
Your edits stay off the live site until an approver publishes them.
-
Click Submit changes.
-
The approver goes to Content Management > Content changes > Manage content changes in the StoreConnect Console.
-
On the Needs approval tab, the approver selects the change, checks the original and new values, and clicks Approve. Approving does not change the live site.
-
On the Ready to publish tab, the approver selects the change, clicks Publish, and confirms.
The approver needs an Approver role with Store Scope set to All. By default, nobody can publish a change they submitted themselves, so a second person publishes it unless the approver’s role includes the Publish Own Changes API scope. For the full process, see Review and approve content changes.
After publishing, the change moves to the Published tab. There is no option to schedule a change for a later date.
8. Check the live site
-
Visit your live website.
-
Refresh the page. A published change can take up to a minute to appear.
